Did you know? The only way to enjoy the core area of Playa Balandra is to use the land access. Take the road La Paz – El Tecolote and a mile before arriving at the Tecolote is the deviation to Balandra. In the summer of 2022 there are two shifts: 8:00 and 14:00. People arrive between one and two hours before to make a row. Up to 400 people can enter per shift.
The cost to enter is MXN54.00 per person, per day. Exceptions: over the age of 60, under the age of 12, residents of La Paz, and people with disabilities.
Bracelets may run out, so it's a good idea to buy one before trying to enter.
Do not rely too much of the shallow waters, as there is a channel and a hole that can challenge people who do not know how to swim, try to use a life jacket, and even knowing swim, be aware of currents caused by the tides in the canal zone.
The boat tours only reach the “mushroom rock”, the outer part of Balandra. hChimbi offers tours to this area by boat, sailboat or yacht, where you can enjoy the blue waters of the deep zone of Playa Balandra.
Balandra is located 24 kilometres north of La Paz downtown, or 3 hours from Los Cabos by road. You can use taxi-platform (DiDi), or the Playabús that comes out of the Malecón bus station or even better by renting a vehicle.
Because of it's status as a protected natural area there is no food sales, it is advisable to bring food and drinks from the city. Please, leave the beach better than you found it, without waste and doesn't take animals or plants or rocks.
